I wasn’t personally involved in the project with Pronovias, even though I do remember it as I had team members from my market participate and help out. It’s clear however, that this was a transformative journey, not just for Pronovias but also to a degree for us at Vaimo. Pronovias, the global leader in bridal wear, has been adorning brides worldwide for over 50 years, with an impressive reach in over 105 countries. Their legacy is one of elegance and innovation, and when they approached us to overhaul their B2B operations, we knew this was a project that required our most sophisticated solutions.
For over a decade, Pronovias had relied on a custom legacy system designed to support their field sales team. This system, while functional in its time, had grown cumbersome and outdated, especially in an increasingly digital world. Navigating this system was no easy feat for their customers without assistance, and the backend rules were a challenge to manage, compounded by a significant maintenance burden due to its ERP integration. Pronovias needed a change—a move to Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) to enhance user experience, boost performance, and streamline operations.
We at Vaimo saw this as an opportunity to truly make a difference. Our task was to redesign the B2B site to not only manage the intricate details of made-to-order wedding dresses but also to provide an unparalleled user experience. Our solution was comprehensive and cutting-edge.
One of the most significant challenges was managing an extensive product catalog. With 700,000 simple products and 30,000 configurable products, it was imperative to ensure that each customer had a clear and personalized view of product availability, unique prices, and stock across multiple warehouses. We accomplished this through a robust integration with the M3 ERP system, capable of handling a daily influx of 50-60 files. This integration allowed for substantial updates to the catalog, customer data, invoices, orders, and stocks—keeping everything current and accurate.
Price customization was another critical aspect. With around 100 price lists, each tailored to different customer priorities, the system needed to pick and display the correct price efficiently. For configurable wedding dresses, customers could select various sizes and styles, with each option showing customized specifics. This required a sophisticated setup, linking custom options to attributes to keep the number of total products manageable while enhancing performance and resource efficiency.
We didn’t stop there. Our build included advanced features such as country configuration scope, SSO integration with Microsoft Azure, and hosting on Google Cloud with Elasticsearch, all under our management. This setup not only improved performance but also simplified the overall structure, eliminating the need for multiple store views and currency definitions.
The delivery of this project was methodical. Phase one focused on capturing specific orders while maintaining other sales channels. Implementing the complex business logic into Adobe Commerce required meticulous customization and a deep understanding of Pronovias’ operations. By introducing country scope configuration managed through a separate module, we streamlined the system, making it more intuitive and efficient.
Since launching the new platform, Pronovias has seen a seamless transition from their legacy system. Their B2B channel has been operating successfully for over three years, supported continuously by Vaimo. A notable new feature allows Pronovias staff to define roles and user permissions directly from the admin panel, enhancing their autonomy in system management.
Looking ahead, we’re focused on further improving analytics to better track user journeys and campaigns, involving upgrades to the data layer and integration with Google Analytics. Enhancing price calculations to improve overall website performance is also in our roadmap.
